I was having a pretty miserable day today. A vicious combination of stress, frustration, and loneliness typically will do the trick. Thank the gods that I have good friends, like ee.en, who even after he was drenched with my personal sorrows, went out of his way to send me this song. Interpret it how you like, but listening to A Postcard to Nina was exactly what I needed.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love Vimeo? Its one of those sites thats just so beautiful that you're compelled to visit just to get a breath of well designed air (or in some cases, upload vlogs about 3-D Cat Cards). I just came across this quick little music video of Robie, the Radioshack Robot Bank, on the front page.
My brother got Robie for Christmas one year and I was forever envious of his awesome robot bank. I'm pretty sure he still has it, and I'm pretty sure I still want to steal it. Observe the wonder that is Robie, soundtrack provided by Ratatat's Wildcat:

Convenient QOTD! Sweet! My fellow co-worker Kimmie has been feeling down and out as of late, so in effort to bring her happiness for the coming week I made these tiny felt happy tear buddies to cheer her up! You might notice that they look familiar, as they're based on a drawing I did last week.
Much to my surprise, I too was greeted with an unexpected act of kindness when the visiting Vox product manager from Japan, Ayako, brought me a set of these incredible 3-D Cat Playing cards! The box design alone is pretty lovely, but the cards themselves are made of win and awesome. While you can't tell from the photographs below how awesome they truly, you can catch a glimpse of their 'special effects' in my very first Vimeo post over on my TypePad blog. What can I say, I have a lot of blogs. They're like my many precious chilluns, scampering around the blogosphere and spreading the good word of .tiff. Maybe I lack focus, but I'd like to think I have too many things to blog about to keep it all in one place. Or maybe I just have a multi-blog disorder. Either way, you'll have to get used to it.
My newest blog baby is my .tiff TypePad blog. A work in progress, by all means, but something I'd like to improve upon in the months to come. You should head over there and take a look at my post about the movie Murder Party. It has folks like the characters below, if you're interested.
Seems like this Monday was the day for .tiff to make some random appearances around the Internets. While my cameo at the WWDC '08 Keynote pales greatly in comparison to Mr. Sippey's stellar onstage presentation of our TypePad iPhone app, if you look carefully at timestamp 1:22:47 you can catch of glimpse of myself and Chico when we were waiting in line for the iPhone launch in NYC last year:
My creative intuitions have been in a rut for the last year. When I was still in school I'd draw at least once a day, but without class time to doodle and my art classes for my major I just haven't been able to build up the courage to produce anything worthwhile recently. Despite the fact that I've invested in several moleskines and sketchbooks to get my juices flowing, they've been filled to the brim with To Do lists and work notes and void of any interesting drawings. Sad panda, indeed.
Thankfully, Crap Artist's last pen pal package included a tiny, slim-paged sketchbook (the Caderno in the photo). One evening a few weeks ago I decided to try it out. Page by page I started to play around with ballpoint, my prismacolor markers, and other experiments. This sketchbook has something magical about it, and in turn i've been able to make a few drawings that I'm proud of again.
